PROJECT KOMITI RESERVE RESTORATION

TRMU are uniting with Tinopai Ratepayers and Residents Improvement Association to replant Komiti Reserve which is part of the Puapua Creek tributary, with native wetland bush. The Environment Management Plan is yet to be formulated but will include a replanting program in an area known as Lot 20, which will prevent siltation running off the Liangren farm.

TRRIA are applying for their mangrove removal Resource Consent and TRMU have agreed to support the Renewal subject to the terms of the Environment Management Plan which will include - preservations zones; weltand enhancement and restoration zones; maintenance of mangroves in the recreation and amenity zones;
